two right angle bevel

I have built a 48 ft motoryacht and powerded it with two diesel engine c/ with V drive system . The hull design type is a deep V shape type. Now I am thinking to replace the V drive system and transmit power to the shaft propeller via two right angle spiral bevel gear set . I am just wondering if anyone has done it before and what precauton should I take before start working on such design.
