retainer nut

    Hi guy's,
    I have a mercruiser mc1.
    The u joint retainer nut has corroded away on the bottom.
    What is the removal and installation procedure to replace it.

    Are you talking about the nut that holds the splined shaft to the upper gear? If that is corroded, how do the gears look?
