Merc 5.0 and 3.0

Do these two engines (both GM) have the same flywheel housing bolt pattern?
Are the flywheels the same?

Thanks
Bob

Anyone know?

Anyone want to trade a couple 3.0 inline 4's for a couple 5.0 Crusaders?

Doubt it,--the 3 is the 2.5 with the carb restriction removed, I never buy a 3 but always buy the 2.5,-- cheaper and I can make a 3 in 5 minutes.

I dont know the 5

It appears the 3.0 and Small Block V8,s have the same bolt patern (Bell Housing) see:

Look at response on 3/13/2003
The 2.5 engine (153 cu in ) is a shorter stroke version of the 3.0 (182 cu in.)

Frosty, Sorry for ruffling your feathers. 2.5, 3.0 and 5.0 are metric displacement (liters) which we are now using in the US.

Regards, Jango
