| Maximum length for propeller shaft ? Propeller shaft is 1 1/4 inch stainless and 9 feet long. Do I need intermediate bearing and if yes, what kind of installation do exist? thanks |

| Gerard Yes definately . You cannot shaft 9 feet with anything sensible without a centre bearing. For 1.5 inch you will find one middle bearing will suffice to stop the shaft whipping. Use a self aligning bearing and block. A pressed on shoulder with an interference fit to the bearing is best. Sealed roller or ball. Talk to your local bearing suppliers eg SKF . Front wheel drive vehicles have a similar bearing on the longer axle before the first cv joint, have a look at one of those for impementation ideas. Hope this helps Mike
