Help w/ a sweet 16'

I am kinda new to the I/O world and have been given a '69,16' tri-hull Evenrude w/155 original Kiser-Jeep v6. the stringers that support the engine have rotted out. I was wondering if it was possible to replace them with-out removing the engine andf if not.......hoe does one get the engine out as there is nothing supporting the outdrive with out the engine....or am I thinking in reverse?!
