Ford 1600 replacement for simms supper v jet drive

Hi all, I was wondeirng if anyone had any information about the set up that is often popping up, a ford crossflow 1600 with a (I think p65?) jet drive on it.

I am re-engining mine because i think it is knackered, however is there any particlular requirements to marinise this engine, i am fairly sure it has an open system whereby the force of the water coming from just after the impellor goes around the engine, through the oil heat exchanger then onto the manifold for exhaustion.

Am i almost right here? also do i need to modify a road engine to go into the boat ie. remove thermostat?

Thanks!

Ps if anyone has a decent ford 1600 let me know!
