Engine weight...

Hello, looking for info on weight of crusaders 454 engines and Vevet drive trannys. Am considering an engine swap, but are concerned about the increased weight, as I now have small blocks. Thanks

According to GM, the latest Big Blks are about 300# Heavier than the Sm Blocks. 727# vrs 432# , complete Engine w. Alum intake (Fuel Injection), Iron Heads - NO exhaust manifolds or Trans. Save abt. 75# with Alum Hds.
71 series Velvet Drives are abt 100#, 72 series are 110#
