| If you set up the tender locked to the stern, like a barge setup, the steering and handling will be similar to having an outboard installed on a stern bracket.

Without a better discription / images, I don't believe anyone can really make any truly helpful, informed comment. -Tom P.S. | Of course you can but at what cost, and I don't mean just monetary. I wouldn't advise any changes, you should buy a boat that is correct and what you want in the first place. Good luck. | I keep on hearing that about the two happiest days. In my experience that is not so. I love boats. I love operating boats. I love working on boats. Buying and selling is only incidental to ownership. Roses to Ashes: You have another thread about modifying the houseboat. I think that you may be trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. It may end up being an expensive project that will end up in something unsafe and unusable.
