| If you are installing an automotive engine, please read the marinizing threads. You can find out how not to blow up or go up in flames. After that, you will need either marine gears or fabricate a double sided thrust bearing holder.

| Would it be hard to fabricate one? |

| Yes, it has to take the reverse and forward thrust of the propeller. I think you are way over your head.

| It makes no sense to take automotive equipment, re-invent the wheel and make it square. There are plenty of used marine powerplants for not too much money. What is your reason to fabricate parts that won't work all that well anyway.

| Haha, alright fine. Me, brother and fiance want to build an amphibious vehicle, that is the reason I am asking. I know this is a huge task, and none of us are experienced for such...but still...I know how to do the "hull"bottom of the truck to make it "float" and I know how to keep it water tight that much I understand and ahve gotten done on the truck, I just haven't been able to find any information on adding the propeller to run off the same engine, I know there are a few that use this setup..like the military dukw. Any help would be much thanked |

| You need to add a PTO. It can be mechanical or hydraulic.
