| 302 engine in boat This is for anyone. I have been having trouble with my boat. Can a regular car distributor work on a 302 ford engine in a boat? |

| yes it can , but you must put a lock plate in to disable the vacuum advance, and remove the vacumm advance pot. A boat engine runs at aload all the time so a vacumm advance is use-less. the curve springs and weights may need to be changed also as a boat and a car need a different ignition curve. make sure the replacement distributor will clear the intake runners |

| It is dangerous and illegal to put an automotive distributor on a boat. It doesn't have a flame arrestor and cna cause an explosion.
