Place a cylinder at a direction of 45 degrees with
respect to the x and y axes. Assume it's infinite water depth. How to calculate the wave loads on cylinder?
P.S.: Since the force expression is nonlinear so we cannot project the velocity in a direction perpendicular to the cylinder axis...right?

    Homework or test problem?

How large is the cylinder compared to the wave height and wave length?

    thanks for your reply man.

    its just my research interest.

body dimension is smaller than wave length. so morrison eq can be used.

i was wondering if horiziontal water particle velocity can be projected to the direction perpendicular to cylinder axis. and integrate? if so, how to intergrate it? thanks.
