There is another explanation to recurrent problems, but i am not sure it will satisfy everyone

In the past we thought that quantum effects only happen at small and large scale. We now know that it happen at all scales, So...

The second option is a ... quantum opposition

Well Solar planet is in Manilla ..reception by the president etc and then they thank the country with a post like this .....temperature: 28.0°C

. A few meters from the boat we could see people throwing their fishing lines out to try to catch fish in the dirty harbor water. At night, the place turns into a karaoke bar, where it is difficult not to hear singing voices, and it lasts all night. Occasionally you can see tables and chairs flying, launched by drunken customers. On the promenade you can see the homeless looking for a place to rest for the night before being chased by police at dawn. All this contrasts with the two rich neighborhoods "Intromuros" and "Makati," which mix historic buildings and impressive modern architecture.

Security guards from Sunpower always escorted us during our stay in Manila; we even had a chauffeured car.

Great advert for Manilla after they have been treated like royalty ...
Perhaps someone should stick something hot where the sun does not shine.

Well aren't the operators hyper rich fools anyway.

The kind who want to travel and see the world but a little disturbed by the locals...

Hybrid propulsion actually does work, it is more costly than diesel , the pure electric range
depending on speed is between 8 and 50 NM, with an acceptable speed of 6 knots = 30 NM range
We have been working on our system since 2002 and it is in production.
Negatives are price and pure electric range
positives are virtually fossil fuel, noise , sooth and pollution free and the possibility to fill the tank ( batteries ) while sailing

I have attached a picture of the setup and some info on range and regenerating
Since these graph's were made we have upped battery power and installed larger diameter props.

Now all stand by your guns

Perfect timing I see ....

.....Somali piracy set to surge as monsoon ends -

- Somali pirate attacks are expected to surge in coming weeks after a monsoon abates, but defence cuts will undermine international efforts to fight them, a senior European Union navy official said on Wednesday.

Pirate attacks on oil tankers and other ships are costing the world economy billions of dollars a year and navies have struggled to combat the menace, especially in the vast expanses of the Indian Ocean.

Now wouldn't it be great if ............

IMO threads should be closed when they're a year old and somebody resurrects it with a post having nothing to do with the original topic.

Are you referring to post #144 ? I fully agree, it isn't relevant, interesting or funny.

And if the post which comes a year later has anything to do with circumnavigation (assuming that the thread's topic is related to circumnavigation) then it would be fine.

I fail to understand how the Somali piracy has anything to do with the technical viability of a hybrid electric boat?

Well if this boat was capable of speeds greater than a UK canal boat it might be less vulnerabe to pirate attack ..as you can see it has been coast hugging via Vietnam and traveling at night ( solar boat ? ) and will no doubt do the same to get to the suez canal ...battery changes in mid pacific ..total overhaul in singapore ..insults in Manilla ....great learning experience for its rich owners but in real terms a 2011 failure and total con in its solar presentations ...must have cost millions ...cheaper to have a couple of 40 hp yamahas on the back and pay the fuel ...oh sorry the pirates have 40 hp outboards ..

Other than a few sailing yachts, the majority of the ships attacked by Somali pirates have been ocean transport ships that are quite a bit faster than UK canal boats... and they still got taken. So what's your point?
