If they actually build the energy plants, time will say yes or no.

Same like Perendev.com (and when I typed that URL, I ended up with the same website as your first one...)

I've been after a way to make Algae Diesel on my place for over two years now.
Lots of people are actually making Oil from Algae and using it .
They are sure sitting tight on the way to crack the Lipids open to get that oil.

Some are burning the Lipids whole.
That reqires some special adaptions.

They all want money from investors, thinking the first company to make it "PAY" will own the IP's and Patents.
Some day, someone will make it work. I believe in it! But I'm still waiting for some way to do it myself here on my place.

In my experience, the more 'say and show' without making a point, the less they have to sell.

algae oil is certainly being done in a big way now for the US military.
http://biofuelsdigest.com/bdigest/20...scale-by-2011/

Quote:
Barbara McQuiston told the Guardian that the General Atomics and SAIC-led projects have been recording harvests at more than 1,000 gallons per acre and predicted that large-scale refining, at the 50 Mgy level, would commence as soon as 2013.
there is no oil crisis if we choose not to have an oil crisis.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algae_fuel

Quote:
The United States Department of Energy estimates that if algae fuel replaced all the petroleum fuel in the United States, it would require 15,000 square miles (39,000 km2) which is only 0.42% of the U.S. map.[11] This is less than 1⁄7 the area of corn harvested in the United States in 2000.[12] However, these claims remain unrealized, commercially. According to the head of the Algal Biomass Organization algae fuel can reach price parity with oil in 2018 if granted production tax credits.
Absurdly, the government does not talk about this much to the public.

You can find lot's talk on the net. There are many different Alga with differing amounts of oil yeild and different methods to get the processing as far as the cake or in the case of a company known as OO, the do it all in one step.

Who knows how a homeowner can seperate the oil from the lipids?
So far in two years or so, all I've seen is talk.

The DOD wont talk. They are using our tax dollars to get this info, but wont share it with us. How aggrevating is that?
