Hi Breschau, What I have concluded is that Yipster can via his neighbour WIFI systen log into the boat.net. Thus this is a different service provider. Also I concluded that there is nothing wrong with his computer. If he can log in via WIFI and his neighbour, but not via the cable system, his computer must be O.K.

Breschau, could you help me by writing to me excactly what you do and see, when you up-load a jpeg or any other file. This helps me to find the error I am having. i.e.
1) you click with the left button on the paperclip icon >>>> this is what happens, if you click with the right button, this is what happens etc. etc. This is what you see at the left bottom of the screen etc. etc.

I do know, that you run on linux, but it may just give me some idea's to solve my problem. Many thanks if you are willing to do so.
Bert

Bert - you may have already said this, but did you test with a second web browser on that same computer already other than your primary web browser? For example if you use Internet Explorer, did you give Firefox a try?

Also are you able to < upload to the gallery > on this site?

If the issue were routing or firewall related on this side, it should be affecting everything and so I'm perplexed why the issue only affects attachments. I was able to upload an image logged into your account with the temporary password I reset on a windows 7 64-bit machine here without issue using IE8 and firefox; I can't spot anything amiss with your forum account itself but I wanted to be sure before wasting your time.

I've been in the habit of using zonealarm as a software firewall on windows boxes for a decade now to monitor any programs which try and make an outgoing connection, but I encountered an intermittent issue with zonealarm when I updated to a win7 64-bit box where it was intermittently causing one of the network links to choke and perform at very slow speed and outright lockups of the network. Are you using any third-party firewall or security/av suite applications?

When you left click on the attachment icon or left click on manage attachments button you should see a smaller new window appear like this: http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/faq...chment_explain
Your browser may prompt you to allow the manage attachments new window to launch - if so, choose to allow this "popup" from this site.
Then in the manage attachments window, left click Browse and then select the file from your computer, then left click the upload button.
It may take a minute to upload depending on the size of the file.
Then close that window and in the main window below in the "attach files" section you should see the filename of the file you just uploaded. At this point you can go ahead and "submit reply" with its attachments.

No, Jeff, because I was able to up-load onto your gallery site.

My apology, I gave you a private message instead of a reply on this thread yesterday, before I had to run.

I am still stuck on the paperclip, it does not allow me to open a window in the same manner as with uploading onto your gallery. I loaded, without any problem, the picture DSC0004. I concluded that I still have a setting maybe wrong, or that we still have a firewall problem somewhere, either at my service provider. However, it is Christmas time, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and maybe we should leave it till some times next year, and attend to this problem further. I am not in the hurry, but I should mention that suddenly I got pages and pages of your HTML source code in my box. I am not available for the next 48 hours. I wish everybody a marvelous Christmas.
Bert
