To elaborate a bit more on the above ...In XP... Image-stretch/skew and put in a percentage. Use the same percentage and the pictures keeps the same aspect. Use different ratios to stretch it one way or another. You can also rotate and flip the picture on different axis. In Windows7 the layout is different but the tools are still there...I don't know about (YUK!)Vista

That will paste as a .bmp by default and be HUGE... so be sure to Save As a .jpg unless you absolutely need the sharpness and clarity. Saving as a jpg will lose some of that.

Another useful tool is "Snipping Tool" which is also in the Accessories folder. You can use it to capture part or all of the screen.

Viewing the world through Apple OSX, I tend to use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat for this stuff. Paint has its place, but is not part of my OS.

Paint has been useful to me on several threads.

This illustration was on the sagging hulls thread.

The version of paint in Windows 7 is even better, Windows 7 is waaaay better than Xp etc.

eg. The 'Large Size' option, has now become a proper Zoom - and is much easier to work in when you want to add fine detail.

I use paint so much that I have a shortcut on my desktop. One thing that I use it for is to take an existing boat and modify it to how I would like it. The last couple of days I have been playing with the changes that I would like in a Roughwater 41. Attached are images of the stock boat and one of my revisions as an example of how I use paint.
