oil filter location

i have a 1999 ebbtide volvo penta 4.3 gl were is the oil filter located

It might have been placed in a remote location which is done for several reasons. If it is not attached to the block then you have your answer. You then just get the approiate hose and return and mount it where you want to for easy change.

i have a volvo penta 4.3 gl what type of oil should i use synthedic or non synthedic

Synthetic is much better. It will last three or four times longer between changes, so it ends up being cheaper.

Oil choice depends on how you use your boat. If it is just for summer use, then regular oil is fine, change it when you put the boat away for the winter. If you are using it year round, then the synthetic makes sense.
