All the rods should be the same bore and length. Using the same bearings, I would not do, but look on the back side of the bearings for any stampings that may show an oversize bearing. Hone the cylinders and use new rings and bearings, it will save you money in the long run.
If in doubt, it's always cheaper in the long run to have a machine shop or engine rebuilder do the work. |
Take it to a engine place and get the bores honed , new bearing and let them fit the rings to the pistons and the pistons to the bore with new bearings to the short block stage !! . the number on the rod goes to the camshaft and there should be a triangle stamped on the piston that indicated the front so look for that and it will tell you which end is one !!
