1987 Bayliner Capri 3.0L Mariner

Hello, I just bought this 87 Bayliner as a project, needed a motor which I overhauled and made brand new. My question is electrical, none of my gauges are working and the main ignition fuse keeps popping, I need help, anyone out there had or have a simailar problem...............Thxs Jeff

look into a shorted wire. if main fuse blows with ignition off start with red wire from engine back
