1985 Beacraft Newbie Question

I hope i posted this in the right spot.Hello we bought this boat last year and it ran fine.right now im having hesitation problems.I cant go past 2200 rpms.or else it sounds like it wants to stall. Rpms gauge Just jumps up and down. i have to let it off back to 2000. i already replaced my fuel lines and checked the filter.could my carb need a rebuild .or maby i have water...please help thanks

Could be carb trouble.... a clogged high-speed jet perhaps. Wet gas would stall it out at idle too. What model engine are you running?
