1976 Ford 302 Engine oil?

I just bought and am fixing up a 1976 hawaiian, Im new to the ford 302 engine it has in it and wondering what weight and brand oil you guys recommend. Also how many quarts I need to put in it?

There were originally used with 30W but you can run them with 10W40 which is more efficient. It should take 5 to 6 quarts depending on the oil pan model.

It may be more fuel efficient but the straight 30 will give the engine a longer life , as long as it is not so cold (below freezing starts ) where the water thin oil is needed.
