Yes. The datacenter upgraded their core Cisco 6500 routers with Brocade MLXe-16 routers at midnight last night. It did not go as planned or their tests simulated, and there have been major issues today. FWIW they spent 2 weeks planning the upgrade. The network engineers are still on site and working on the issue.

It's not affiliated with us, but it's in the same datacenter and affected by the same core router problem.

Indeed! And thanks very much for the moment of humor - just what I needed in an otherwise frustrating day. And sorry again for all the connectivity issues today.

without this particular forum and these particular folks I would unlikely be on the verge of making a life long plan, reality

I find out tomorrow whether they accepted my offer on the boat or not.

I think you should reset the PC. That's what everyone tells me when I have a generic problem. If it doesn't work, you should switch it off and then on again, until it works.
Prepare a cup of coffee, a sandwich and a thick newspaper to read (better if it has one of those centerfold pics) before you start.

Actually no daiquiri,

They firstly tell you to go to start, control panel and start changing all the settings you took months to eventually get right.

After the next reboot there will be 200 popup windows and clashing hardwares amongst other smalls. Each setting would of course require a new reboot...

What really gets me if they tell you to go file edit view ... and then to a drop down menu that doesn't exist

I still want a 'fcuk off' button on my windows. Whatever was up or comes up, if you press it it must go away and never come up again, like the popup that asks you, Are you sure ? Are you sure you're sure, Are you sure you're sure you're sure...
