My first post for ages,
I agree with Marshmatt, he is consistant and polite
I will not post again whilst scurrelous accusations are thrown about by only one member. Despite flagging a post, the post stayed
I have made my living from building for30 years now and have many happy owners, yet one poster is allowed with impunity to tell the world I am an amateur. trying to rubbish all I say and showing that HE is in fact a person with no metal experience at all Now this I could put up with but this guy knows that I am trying to sell boats, so anything he says can be found searching myself
I do try to prove what I do by putting it all on the Gallery
In a real world this person could be sued
I should not like to be a moderator and I like many do not believe in the rep points system There was a very educated Greek friend used to post here, he was wiped out and left because of the vicious assaults
I never post if others with far less experienced can answer the question, neither do I post for the sake of it
Glad to have made solid friends 7 of whom I have met face to face
i like the Faces to Names, it is worth a million words
This person is not there and trys to tell me that the name we all know him by is ficticious Which is dishonest in itself
Only one way to know someone, pick up the phone, meet them in person, until you do you hardly(know ) that person

Well put Whoosh.

People behind a keyboard can make people behind a windshield look civilized.

Whoosh: Good point on the http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/ope...mes-22075.html
I wouldn't get quite so worked up about things, though, mate.... the little dispute you mention got out of hand, yes. But we'd hate to lose a couple of helpful contributors over what was, from what I saw of it, a bit of preventable confusion that, coupled with some high emotions, blew up into an impressive flamewar.

I'm from Ontario, and I agree with you... now that really says something about what online anonymity does to people's tempers....

I think that any members using anonymous proxies should be banned instantly! There are a number of multi handled trouble makers here, they have become obvious to me but for some reason they are allowed to remain active.

Sock puppets (and meat puppets) are against forum rules, as with virtually all other forums on the web.... however, it is extremely tedious for a moderator to sort out such problems if the sock puppets are routed through foreign proxies. I didn't think any of our trolls were that sophisticated, though....

Then I can't understand why they are not being nailed!

Also a proxy setup is not really that hard to achieve... not that I am going to point out how.
