As you have probably noticed, the forum software has been upgraded from version 2.x to version 3.x and the gallery software has been upgraded as well. I was hoping that I could get everything just perfect before the morning, but I'm afraid there are still many things to do.

If you have any problems with the new software, please post them here (or email webmaster@boatdesign.net) and I'll do my best to get everything back into shipshape ASAP.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Posting more suggestions fro functions...

A brilliant thing that still is missing on vB. but works on "Invision Power Board" is that an unread post has a certain color/icon until you've clicked/read it.

vB still seems to work in the old way where the "lit up" sections and msgs return to normal if you return a few mins later and forget where it was if u didn't read it... But at least now it says on the forum page when the last post was made in a clear way.

 the new style forum software sure made me look up, i imediate checked www.boatdesign.net for the old look and feel. IMHO the old colors felt more watery and from long past memory the original colors and set-up i liked maybe best. like first windows. than again: maybe thats just my memory or maybe its simply me getting old ;-)

dont feel to old tho to list the boot dusseldorf event on the calendar but hell, first impression is i liked the old one better in marking and reading.

and oops goofed. was checking the possibility's out trying to fly a joly-roger, now its an bordered visible attachment. how to upload pics? PHP tags? and whats there to wrap? getting back to the main dir is a bit small type? enough of this, i'll get used, but thats my reasen for flying that flag :D

The only thing I miss is the "view active threads" button. Is this the same as new posts?

    Jeff,

I still seem to be having trouble staying logged in. Other than that I think this went smooth. Now I will get to see if the avatars plug up my phone line. I caught the user designation, I thought it had something to do with their addiction.

Once again great job and great site, thank you.

    Thanks Gary :D

I hate to even suggest this because it can be a pain, but you might have to either manually delete the old cookies from our site (including boatdesign.net, www., forums., and gallery.) or clear your cookies and then login for it to work properly. It seems the old cookies created and left behind by the old version are sometimes conflicting with the new version's cookies.

If that still doesn't do it, let me know.

    avatars

I think I saw in your user cp a spot where you can choose not to display avatars on your screen. Or maybe display options. this may help those on dial-up

    Jeff,

That just occurred to me, and it seems to have done the trick.

    New format

    Jeff,

You are one dedicated, patient, ambitious, and competent fellow who deserves a note of gratitude from all of us. And I am not too old to adapt to a new format, I say, muttering to myself.

...don't know if its just me Jeff, but when I go to pictures in the gallery, the page appears too big for the screen, disappearing off the right hand side....
