| Wood bulkhead construction on an Irwin34/help please. Hi all, I purchased an Irwin 34 Sailboat. The interior was completely ripped out for the refit, probably resulting from a moisture problem. I have been looking everywhere for designs/prints in order to replicate the original bulkheads, but cannot find anything on the Irwin designs. Can anyone help? I don't have to stick with the original design so if anyone has any suggestions about books that would cover bulkhead design and construction I would really appreciate it. Thanks all, e-mail; fdebellis@dol.net. Last edited by FrankieD : 12-02-2006 at 08:22 PM. Reason: addition |

| what i have done is hot glue paint stick 1/8 off the hull the deck and bulge to form a templett of my new bulkhead . then set on my ply trace and cut. then scribe a 2'' line where i would tab the new bulkhead to the hull. remove the top layer of wood.coat with resin or epoxy sealing the end grain at the same time. set in place tab in. but that is how i have someone may have a better way of doing it. |
