who teaches boat building

I have built cars for years and painted them. I have always loved boats and own several. Replacing stringers and patching doesnt seem to be a issue but I have always wanted to learn the right way how to build a boat. is there anyone or place that explains scheduling and build up. I would like to see one build and how its done, i know it wont be a overnight kind of thing . where do i start?

There are lots of schools that teach the basics of boat building. On the links page on my web site is a list of schools. Go to the page and scroll down. http://newboatbuilders.com/pages/links.html In California Arques School of Traditional Boatbuiding Sausilito CA Check with local community colleges. Many have related programs such as marine technicain courses. Many years ago i took a fiberglass course at a college in El Cerritos. I doubt if they still offer it but others may offer fiberglass technology.

There are no sanger molds out. to public. rumor is the molds got crushed but also rumor is they still have some of them. anyway I would love to build a boat mainly to say I can do it. I know its alot of work . Id like to find a seminar or school. nothing in the area.

Building a Hydro from scratch would be fun. I hope there's a lot of pictures!

And no, the boat's not sold. I was building this one for myself. Unless someone showes up with cash.. (The wife says I have to sell it if someone asks.)
