What type of foam?

Ok, I've read around inside this sub-forum for two days now and still have yet to find what I'm looking for. Maybe I have been searching the wrong terms but anyways..

I'm simply looking for that pink foam boards/sheets that can be glued together and shaped to a desired form to lay up carbon fiber around /over /inside. I'm looking for no structural properties etc. It has been around 7 years since I have worked with carbon fiber and I cant remember where I used to get that stuff for the life of me, help?

thanks!

It's the exact same extruded polystyrene (XPS, Styrofoam) sold as insulation. Makes decent moulds, if you don't mind the mess of tiny fuzzed-up bits that are left over when you're done cutting and shaping it.

thanks guys. I was going to get by Home Depot today a look at insulation to see if that was what I was looking for but didnt make it today. Now I know what to look for.

I'm looking at making a center console for a john boat and I would like to use a female mold, what is a good (cheap) compound to use over the foam mold that will cure to be sturdy enough to do my lay up and vacuum bagging in?

I bought some at Home depot for my dinghy. It is not expensive and easy to cut. comes in 2 foot by 8 foot by 2 inch sheets.
