Is the nidacore ok to use vertically in a wieght bearing situation or do you recomend something else? Thanks again JR

I would prefer Divinycell for what you describe. What thickness, density, and lamination schedule depends on what you are replacing.

Yes, make sure the load bearing side has at least 3 layers of structural glass. I like 1810.
