To Volan, or not to Volan...?

Here's a new one for me.. While looking for a new supplier for fiberglass cloth on the internet, I came upon a site <http://johnrsweet.com/Fabric.html> that was very informative. In reading the text, it states, "We do not recommend the use of Volan finishes because of the chromium content.", in the "Fiberglass Finishes" section.
As I look up other suppliers, some seem to boast that their cloth IS Volan treated.
I am hoping some of you have some knowledge on this... Is this really an issue? And 'thanks' in advance....
