| Urethane bedding compound & mold How do you stop mold in urethane bedding compound. Every six months it starts to develop black spots. |

| You can't really stop it. The compound contains a small amount of uncured urethane components like urea, a favorite food for many fungi. Cleaning it with bleach removes the mold, kills the spores and makes the urethane less attractive to new growth as long as some chlorine remains present. But eventually all chlorine has washed away and new settlers will arrive.

| You have to look for mold and mildew resistant formulations. There's a huge difference in preformance between the two, which will be clearly advertised on the outside of the tube. I suspect they use a binder to lock down certain aspects of the formulation and/or a pesticide to thwart or kill the little beasties as they try to feed. |
