transporting molds

I am looking at purchasing some molds. I will need to haul them about 500 miles. Is there anything reasonable I can do to protect the finish of these molds while transporting? thanks for the help.

The easiest and best thing, perhaps, is to have the current owner of the molds wax them with a fresh coat and spray a thin layer of chop onto the surface and let it cure. This is what we did at TPI when we moved molds outside for storage or transported them a great distance.

You could also have them shrink wrapped.
