international marine paints have a terrific range of 1k and 2 k paints to suit, look up their site and you should find what you need.

The term "best" depends on the application. What characteristics are you requiring? For example, gloss retention, ease of application, possibility of touch-ups and polishing, etc.

I'm sanding down and repainting and old fiberglass boat. Looking for something affordable at reasonable price.

International polyurethanes are price competitive and produce a good finish .

Ive always used awlgrip products. The colour awlgrip "Off White" is a very fine paint for roll and brush application. What makes it a fine paint is the system of brushing catalyst and brushing reducer. Awlgrip is very expensive paint.

When painting a fiberglass hull the system is...sand and surface repair the topsides....apply two coats, coat on coat, of 545 primer...sand 545 primer carefully with 320 paper on a sanding block... then two coats white topcoat paint, sanding with 320 between coats . Thin the topcoat paint 25 to 30 percent. If you are careful and work correctly you will produce a perfect finish .

With that requirement, go to your local hardware and get Rustoleum. Its good paint at less than half the marine equivalents (Brightside and Unipoxy).

I agree, any industrial grade alkyd is fine. It can also be polished to get scuff marks.

Modern latex acrylic house paints are probably better than marine paints of the not too distant past. Since it is for decks look for one that has skid resistance.
