Stringer attachment

This weekend I will be making a new inside fiberglass skin for my transom and pouring the Seacast composite material. Orginally the stringers did not connect with the transom, they stopped about 1 1/2" short. The stringers are hollow fiberglass shells about 2.5" wide with a plywood strip in the top.

Should I use some woven roving and connect the stringers to the transom? Or, would this make the transom too stiff and not allow the proper amount of flexing? I would think attaching them would reinforce the structure and give the hull greater stability.

Thanks again for all the helpfull advice I have received.

that's a good question, have you gotten any more info. I am in the same positions and I am looking at using the Seacast and letting it actually run into the stringers. That would merge the core material, unlike the OEM intended. However the compression difference would be negligible, it just makes the job easier. In other words, the glass transition point will absorb the load into the stringers from the transom. This junction should be quite thick, and core material is negligible. I think.
