Spraying PVA over Gelcoat? I have a gelcoat project and have been using surfacing solution on the final coat. Is it better to shoot PVA after final coat? If so, should it be applied while last gel coat layer is relatively wet or tacky? Thanks for any insight.

It's easier to use the surfacing solution than PVA and for most jobs the results are about the same. If you use PVA, do it when it's still relatively wet, if you wait too long the gel coat will have already tried to crosslink with the air and may not cure as well on the surface. Wax solutions don't always work well in direct sunlight, or on warm surfaces.

why dont u use duratec in the gel it will allow the gel to dry hard with out the need for wax or pva it will also level the gelcoat much better with some pratic and a good hvlp gun u can get a peel free gel finsh
