splitting a F/G boat How hard is it to put the boat back together, after it is split in two??? It can't be to hard to get apart, but going back together makes me a little nervous. Anyone with any experience in this?? Any help is appreciated.

I assume you you are taking the deck off (splitting a F/G boat), it's not hard to put it back on. There are many ways to reconnect it, screws, rivets, adhesive, glassing, or any combination of they these. You just push, pry and tug until it's in place.

all I can say is make sure the hull is square use a water level and brace it square, its not hard to join together lots of fun glassing though

Thanks for the reply. Yes the deck is off, foam is out, as are the rotted stringers Some of the stringers are still in, but will come out easier if the boat is split. Do you have to replace the metal band that goes around the boats seam or is it re-usable? What kind of adhesive do you use? We plan on riviting it back on. Can you use the same rivet holes in the top or do you make new holes??? Any help is appriciated.
