I have the plans for the spindrift 11N. I am looking to reduce the weight of the dingy, as I want the halves as easy to get up on board as possible. I also want to try a larger carbon fiber/vacuum bagging project, so i'm looking to merge the 2. Here's my idea: construct a hull form of the spindrift out of cheap door skin wood, then thermoform Structural Closed-Cell Foam over it, then glass it in Carbon/Kevlar twill. Anyone see any problems with this?
