On recovering our boat from a fishing trip, we noticed a steady stream of sea water coming from under the hull, on inspection we noticed a T-shaped crack in the hull approx. 5 inches across. This was directly above one of the trailer rollers (approx. mid-section), but are not sure if this happened during recovery or on the trip down. Two possible causes may have been that the large strap used to hold down the rear of the boat could have been too tight or when the boat was recovered, the tide virtually out, with the boat being winched out onto the trailer with only a foot of water. Can anyone suggest the best possible approach to this repair; can it be repaired externally or will we need to gain access internally as well to make the repair. We are particularly concerned about this repair as it sits directly above a roller, so will it need to be robust?
I have now provided 3 photos showing damage above trailer roller, with roller now moved from its supportive position (damage is unfortunately below the deck line).

    Thanks

Could you post a photo? It is possible to do all the repair from the outside, but if there is interior access, the job is easier.

If there is no access inside, you have to create it.
As well suggests Gonzo, some pictures would help.
