Rubber wood plywood planks

Hi,

Does anyone ever used rubberwood plywood planks for the construction of a stitch and glue vessel ?

I have found AA waterproof plywood at two different places with a 20% difference in price.
How may I recognize the fake if any???

Thanks

Get a sample of each and do a boil test for 2 hours . If one comes apart and the bonding delaminates its the fake if they both come apart keep looking . Rubber wood is quite a open grain wood so take care with the glues and paints you use !!Have used a lot for flooring over the years !.
Do samples and weather for a period of time and se what works and what dosent .

If it plywood make sure it 5 ply or more not 3 ply !!
some veneers have small gaps between them and allow water to travel long distances within the plywood . Its the differance between marine grade ( no gaps )and ordinary (has gaps and sometimes quite big) ply . The more plys the smaller the likely hood of finding big gaps within the ply
Also the more plys the more stable and less likely to change shape if the water gets into it over time , and it will get wet .
The Glue used to make the ply is what the boil test is all about !! Not all glues are made equal .
Some cant stand being wet for long periods of time . Water proof and water resistant are two totally differant things and dont beilieve the person selling it , hes just after you money !!
As said get a good sized sample and do your own testing !!!.
There some really nice rubber wood and have used it for making all kinds a things over the years , Come in differant names as well !!
