Hello, I am trying to figure out if the hull of a 1987 luhrs Alura 35 is a 'cored' hull. This boat sank, and, I'm considering a restoration, and would be very hesitant if it were a 'cored' hull, due to the fact that there is no way to get the water/moisture out. Is there any easy way to tell? Thanks, Mark

Take off a thru hull fitting and dig around a little. Sam

if its like the 28 the hull is not cored it dose have coremat to aid with print thur so you dont see the checker board like older boats , and it dose run from the water line to the top of the hull , but its only 2mil or 3 mils thick and its a fiber not wood

Print through is when you can see the fiberglass weave through the gelcoat. Coremat looks like thin cardboard in the layup. Even if the boat has core above the waterline it will take a long time for water to penetrate it.
