resin infusion ???

Hello there,

heard of something new to me. This days there are using resin infusion technology. Should save lots of time and health for the labours. Anyone can give me some ideas if how this is working and what does someone need to do this? Also I like to know, how can u build a mould, without having a model or boat before and if this is possible?

Thank u fro any input.

MIKE

Get yourself down to the IBEX show in Miami. There will be demonstations and vendors and experts there. I saw a demo by Chris Noonan of Composites One. He built an inner skin to a female hull mold and infused the part, pretty slick. Go to IBEX.

I never missed it, even when I was working in Japan. They have an airport there?

Not really sure what you mean here? In principal it's possible to build on a male mould, but in practice you'll have problems with certain hull shapes.
So, in general, a male mould (model) is made to get the female mould, which consists of (depending on hull shape) several parts.
Or the female mould is build straight away .

I hope I got you on the right track
