Replacing wood stringers

I have a 41' Roughwater gutted fiberglass hull. I have to replace the original mahogany stringers and I would like to reuse wood with epoxy encapsulation. They are roughly 1 1/2" wide and 8" tall. What would be the wood of preference?

If you are planning on using epoxy, oak is a bad choice. The acids in it break down the bond. Fir, yellow pine are readily available good options.
