| Redo Steering Console I am working on my 23' 1998 Larson cuddy. I want to repair or replace the steering console. I want to use the same gauges and steering controls, if possible. The console is constructed internally with some aluminum flat bar and wrapped with a very thin piece of hard plastic. Structurally it works but looks terrible. The cover is what I want to work on, as it looks bad with several chips and cracks. Is there any resource material or suggestions about the proper way to do this using fiberglass. TKS DLR |

| These forums have a lot of good information if you take the time to dig through them. If you like the shape of your old console, you could make a mold of it, then lay up a new piece from it. If you want to change things around, you could build a wood and 'glass console to your liking, or scour any old boat yards around and find one you like that you could modify to fit your boat. The possibilities are endless. A good reference book for a novice in fiberglass is The Fiberglass Boat Repair Manual by Allan H. Vaitses. I still refer to it from time to time. Good luck!
