Primer Suggestions Hey guys...I am getting ready to shoot my project boat. I am top-coating the hull with white IMRON. My question is what primers would anyony suggest? I was thinking about a high build then a final primer then the Imron topcoat. Considering duratec primers under the Imron. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

I would use Duretec sanding primer, itseems to work very well and is easy to sand, then I would use a Dupont non-sanding sealer under the Imron which is a good choice by the way.Wear a good respirator,I painted cars for 20 years before I started in fiberglass and Imron is the only paint that ever hurt me and it only took 2 breaths to put me in the bed for 2 days. Good luck Jeff Therrell

I've used polyprimer which I was able to sand nicely to a dull lustre before gelcoating. How does duretec compare to polyprimer? DOes it bring better results?

Use a good epoxy primer or your lookin for trouble later on. Epoxy is will stop osmosis. poly base primers unless vinylester will not.
