| Plastic boat repair Greetings and help I have a 12' plastic JON boat moored on a NH Lake. The boat is a Gator by Pelican boats. (Out of warrenty) The hull is two polyethylen liners sandwiching a low density closed cell foam. It was partially submerged for aprox 6 weeks and the inner core filled with water. The shells bulged. THe boat is unside down now in the Sun. Draining and drying. My Questions are. What is the chance that the inner foam is damaged? Distroyed? Is there any product I can shoot into the Hull drain hole to reinforce the foam? What is a good product to seal the hulls and drain hole? Will silicon sealer work? Any ideas or opinions would be appreciated. Cheers Gator man. |

You shouldn't close the drain holes! Use a plug (with thread) and a rubber seal!! |

| It seems that the polyethilene layers have delaminated for the foam. In this case the boat is lost. Polyethilene is almost imposible to repair and I suspect that the foam is polyurethane...No hope. |
