'one Shot' Moulding

I Have Female Moulds And Would Like To Demould My Epoxy Hulls With A Finished Surface.

Obviously This Means A Perfect Mould Surface Is Required.

What Paint Systems Are Best Suited/ Is It Possible To Do This With Epoxy (as You Do With Polyester Hulls)

I Suppose The Issues Are :
Condition Of Mould Surface
Paint System Needed?
How To Avoid Print- Through After Post Curing Etc (we Use Woven Fabrics In The Outer Skin )

Other Considerations?

Any Comments Are Welcome.

Viking,
We tried a similar exercise. Our objective was not to get a final finish but a preprimed surface.
We released our mould using FreKote, sprayed 3 coats of Awlgrip 545 and then laid up a single layer of 200 gram boat or surfboard glass. The glass was hand laminated without peelply nor vacuum. Once cured we completed the laminate which was vacuumed, cored etc.
The surface was as required, however we had a prerelease which forced us to fair the boat anyhow.
As to the option of a gelcoat finish. I know Reichhold here in Dubai are testing a polyester gelcoat that is compatible with epoxy. I can't remember if Reichhold is represented in SA, they also do the polylite range and that used to be made in Durban.
