NEWBIE HERE..,will need lotsa help.

Hi.,
I have purchased ny 1st boat as a project. 1972 Fiberform w/ a 115hp Mercury engine. It was gutted, mostly. of all the electrical and controlls.
I have rebuild muscle cars. motorcycles, and an Aircraft Mech/tech so i wanted to challenge myself on restoring ( moreover, customizing)a boat of for my family . The price was right and my talent lends itself to saving alot of $$ in labor,.

So ...I need guages, controls, wire harness, maybe some engine parts since so far I have no spark. What about interior pics? Anyone have some?

Pics to post soon,

I guess it comes with the title.

Shoot. fiberglass is fiberglass, aluminum is aluminum, a 4 stroke is a 4 stroke. etc , etc, just gotta learn the arrangement. w/ troubleshhooting skills, and the right info.to work with.

But as you can see in my username " this is it " at least that what my wife has named the boat.

well the stator is shot. I think the ignition control/switch box is bad also.
Checked the compression at 120 psi exactly on all 6 cylinder, cold. Is this a good compreesion number?

Compression is really good. They make generic seats for boats of that size. Are you looking for the type that folds down and makes a bed or bucket seats?

Did you say a 4 stroke is a 4 stroke? That is a 2 stroke motor. The tach should be electric.

Just remember also that money is money. When it comes to boats, it's more or less used for flotation and at about the same volume as foam, you can figure it by cubic feet. Sam

Cash also works great for epoxy cleanup.
Drop your entire wallet into a bucket of acetone,
after twenty minutes you can pop it back in your pocket (don't worry it will just keep your bum cool)
and then any time you make a little mess with some epoxy, pull out a fifty, or hundred- what ever the job requires, and wipe away.
The solvent that has soaked into the leather and credit cards will keep your cash wet for at least a few hours.

P.S. works best in countries with paper money(unlike mine).
