New and green Hello everyone. I have been glancing over some of the threads for a short time. What a professional attitude. I have enjoyed seeing the passion you have for your craft. My 15 y/o son would very much like to begin to understand how to start out building composite boats. Partly, I think because he has done some fiberglass autobody work and has some tools. I would like to learn and enjoy it with him, and I can see all 5 of my kids getting interested. Can anyone suggest a good study point and an easy beginer project. Maybe a canoe mold? Any good reading, video etc? We have inherited a couple of hulls and one needs a transom R&R, we have that figured out though. Looking forward to learning, and applying. Keep up the solid work!

A great reference book out there is, Fiberglass Boatbuilding for Amateurs by Ken Hankinson This book covers most aspects of glass building and is really straight foward and easy to follow. Any tough questions could be posted to this board for review. There are some very qualified builders on this list willing to pass experience Good Luck

I started putting together a small page on making foam core panels off a vacuum bag mold table. I'll finish it someday but until then your welcome to take a look. http://www.geocities.com/bcrepeau.geo/index20PANEL.html Regards Bob C.
