New Engine Bearers

My father and I are refitting out a Carver 27’ Montego And now we have reached the engine, we have removed the OMC King Cobra 4.3 V6’s and legs and purchased a single diesel Volvo AD41a and DP-E leg.

I’ve removed the old engine bearers and the laminate holding them a ground back to the original hull.

I need help in coming up with the laminate to go back again, also can I use something lighter than the ply that was used, the bearers were incredible heavy, one more than the other due to water getting in (this boats has been poorly finished ).
