i wish you the best of luck with your project. i just finished restoring a whitewater racing kayak which thankfuly i got for free because as of now it has cost me close to $400. its a very rewarding project though.

I have made fibre glass sheet with glass and resin and a big sheet of shop window glass from the glaziers with a chip out of it for free. You could then build up a hard chine canoe.

Or build a foam mold, glass over it, then pour a gallon of thinners in it and in the morning there wont be any foam at all.
