Load Grid in Hull Bottom

Hi,

It seems that many of the production racer/cruiser builders utilise an aluminum, or somtimes steel, grid structure in the hull bottom to take keel/rig loads. How is such a structure usually bonded into the hull, is it physically glassed over?

Cheers

Andrew
