P.S. ,,,,you want a strong tape line,( kinda thick) ,,,that makes it easier to sand,,,,,,,,,but use a block,,,and use 2500 grit wet.

So tape off just the 50 cent size mark or tape of a larger area? Put the paint on and take the tape off right away. I was thinking very thin paint as this is more a dirty finger smudge. what do you think?

There is an edge about 2 feet away to the left I can paint to but no edge going to the right for about a mile and a half.

sorry i didnt explain that part,,,,sometimes i get confused on who i'm talkin to,,hehe ,,,tape off a square,,,,not a circle,,,you'll ALWAYS see that circle,,prep it like you was prep'n ya paint for 1 more coat,,,,,ya might try a "thin" tape line,,,its just that for ME its easier to blend in if its a proud line.,,,and i wouldnt go to your "edge",,,you'll NEVER be able to blend in that much,,,, no matter how you mix,,roll it on,,,it jus wont match.

You will never see it when it hits the water. I wouldn't do anything for about a month. If it still bothers you do the repair, but I bet you a beer a month from now you will even forget where it is.

ya,,what he said,,hehe ,,i always forget bout the "flow" factor,,,most boats i painted i didnt see again for a few years,,,and your paint is thicker snailing then when i spray,(see,,thats why i always tell ya ta ask the "snailers" to be surehehe),and if its a "stain" not a fingerprint,,then even if it dont flow out,,,ya would be able to wet sand it out.

I wiped it with a damp cloth this morning and it helped some. Was wanting to hit it with some alcohol or something but was waiting to hear from you guys (notice the patience here, I have very little!) . I loose the boat to a fabricator tomorrow for two weeks who is installing a new hard top. So leave it as see or hit it in the am with alcohol?
